Neodux downtime

rant : by Tommy — November 18th 2005, 10:17AM
rantI'm currently looking for a new webhost. I'm with DreamHost right now, and they have been really really sucking the past month - if you haven't noticed. All of the downtime is due to their overloaded servers. They have great prices to attract more customers, but as of late, they've been driving away those customers (like me) due to bad network support.

Don't host with Dreamhost if you are worried about uptime. Others find their downtime acceptable.

You know me, I hate whining without solutions, so gimme some feedback, know of any stellar hosting deals?

update: Neodux just had it's 2nd outage in less than a month. (Just barely, but Dec. 12 is less than a month.) Thanks Dreamhost!

The "Dream" in Dreamhost comes from all the sleep that the servers get.

Hurricane Electric is great. No stupid features. Just simple and fast hosting at a good price.

Jason at DuffHosting.com offered his services too.

I prefer Lunarpages as well. I have had them for over a year and a half.

bluehost.com is pretty great, i use them for my site, danpritchard.com. If you go to their site, there is a demo available too, so you can try out their CPANEL interface. I dig it. I'm paying about 6.95 a month, I think. The package is very generous with space, bandwidth, you name it.

Oh, and DON'T EVER EVER EVER go with 1&1. No matter how cheap. They're shoddy compared to anyone who uses CPANEL and plus, they have poor service.

sincerely,
dan, who ran across this site randomly.

Siteground is good too. $5.00 a month, 15 minutes response time, lots of features and space and great site builder too.

Once again...allow me to step over the anonymous masses and thrust the glowing beacon that is HytekHosting into the dark night of your hosting woes.

I am using 1&1.com for http://hackedgadgets.com and I can't complain. Their customer service is quite good too.

Sure this is late...

I fully recommend Total Choice Hosting.

I now have 7 sites with them and have had no more than 5 minutes downtime in over a year
